TESDA-PO Occidental Mindoro ( 2017 ASSESSMENT MODERATION)

ASSESSMENT MODERATION CONDUCTED

The TESDA –Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office in partnership  with the Association of Private Technical Vocational Institutions (APTVIs) and Occidental Mindoro Association of Assessors and Trainers (OCMATA) conducted a  two-day Assessment Moderation held on July 19-20, 2017 at Zegom Bldg. Barreto St. Brgy. Pag-asa, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. The event was attended by a a total of 59 participants comprising Competency Assessors cum Trainers and TESDA Provincial Director Edwin T. Andoyo and staff. 

The activity kicked off by the acknowledgement of the attendees coming from various technical-vocational institutions in the province and active competency assessors who are working with various DepEd schools/districts in the province. PD Andoyo gave his inspirational message  and stressed  the importance to conduct the Assessment Moderation, foremost is  to ensure the quality of assessment and its outcomes and ensuring that the judgments of candidates' performance are consistent and in accordance with the methodologies.  Secondly, a certificate on Assessment Moderation is  one of the  requirements prior to the renewal of Assessor’s Accreditation certificate.  Moreover, an opportunity  for the participants to be updated on latest development in TESDA’s policies among others and to enhance harmonious working relationship among competency assessors as well.   Two experts namely: Mr. Elveen M. Mondoñedo, OIC-VSA and Mr. Edgar Martin R. Salcedo TTI’s CAC Focal both from Simeon Suan Technical Vocational College facilitated the two-day activity. ,

The first day started with Pre-test, lectures and group discussions. Ms. Ma. Belen F. Pantaleon, Supervising TESD Specialist of TESDA-PO, discussed the Roles and Responsibilities of Competency Assessor; Mr. Edgar Martin E. Salcedo, SSVCT CACFocal/Professor talked about Work Values of Competency Assessors,  Steps in the Conduct of Competency Assessment and Review of Assessment Tools and Assessment Package; and Mr. Elveen M. Mondoñedo, SSVTC OIC-VSA discussed the Assessment Recording and Reporting. The activities on the second day were highlighted by workshops, post tests and the signing of Agreements per sector and manifestation of support by signing the Assessors’ Credo.
